With a population of 16,500, the borough of Lansdale is a northern suburb located roughly 25 miles southeast of Philadelphia. The town’s economy was once heavily dependent on manufacturing but has since evolved more toward technology and services. As a major stop on one of the Philadelphia area’s commuter rail lines, Lansdale is conveniently close to the city yet has a refreshingly suburban character highlighted with some of the nation’s oldest historical sites. Built in 1805, Jenkins Homestead is a historic home in Lansdale and the oldest structure in town. The Morgan Log House, another historic site, is located just two miles from the center city of Lansdale.
