I am a mother of two. I’m up and showered and headed into work before my boys even get on the bus to school. My morning in the office starts at approximately 6:30 am. Once I’m in the office, I help get the drivers and install techs out the door and off to their assigned jobs for the day. Mornings are not “cut and dry”. They’re not “black and white”. And they are anything but typical. An integral part of my job is being open and flexible to the shift each morning.
Each delivery driver has a different route every day. One day they could be delivering oil to the Kennett Square area of Chester County. The next day they could be delivering on and off road diesel in Conshohocken and other areas in Montgomery County. It’s important that their route is communicated to them effectively. Once the driver receives his assignment, he is on his way.
Each install technician is assigned a new install. We deliver and install many different pieces of equipment. A customer’s install is reviewed and discussed between the install tech and either myself or my coworker. Details are discussed so that the tech is done without incident. From a safety standpoint, these conversations before the tech leaves for the job are extremely important. Because we work with flammable products, it is crucial that our communication and instructions are clear and accurate.
By 7:30 am each driver and install tech is on his way to their deliveries or job for the day. It’s at that point that the next days and the jobs in the days to come are being scheduled. But it’s the first hour that can be dicey because it’s just not the same every day. It’s never typical!
