We have two simple furnace troubleshooting tips for you in today’s video, in case you’re having furnace problems and you’re wondering why is my furnace not working?
First, double-check the system is set to Heat. Then, check the thermostat. Is the temperature set to at least three degrees above the current room temperature? Finally, look to see if the display is working, or if the batteries need charging. Sometimes that’s enough to turn the furnace back on.
If that doesn’t fix your problem, then it’s time to inspect the ignition. If you recently ran out and refilled, some units require you to use the reset button on the burner. Or check if there is enough propane.
If you have an older system with an always-on pilot light, make sure it’s still on, or re-light the pilot.
When your furnace won’t ignite or stay lit, or if your fuel pump needs to be primed, then it’s time to call a service technician, preferably from Great Valley Propane. We’re here for all your heating and cooling needs in Bucks County, Chester County, Delaware County, and Montgomery County.
