Located about 11 miles west of downtown Philadelphia, Broomall, PA has a population of 11,222. It is bordered by the nearby cities of Springfield, Havertown, Newton Square, Haverford, and Worrell.
Broomall was named after U.S. congressman John Martin Broomall who also stood as the president of the Chester Gas Company. It is known for its strong local school district, safe neighborhoods, and quiet atmosphere.
A handful of notable people are from Broomall including English-American Quaker Thomas Massey. The Thomas Massey House is one of the oldest English Quaker homes in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. It is on the National Register of Historic Places and the Historic American Building Survey.
